Withers to Coach 2009/10

The Waratah Football Club is pleased to announce that club veteran and dual premiership player Lincon Withers has been appointed Senior Coach for the 2009/10 season. A popular choice amongst all concerned Withers will be supported by another dual premiership player and former coach in Chris Williams.

Withers has played with the Waratah Football Club for over 10 years and has enjoyed all the success that comes with being a champion player including Best and Fairest awards and numerous NTFL honours. Highly regarded not only at Waratahs but throughout the league Withers brings years of experience from playing in some of the best competitions in Victoria including 2 years at the Carlton Football Club. Chris Williams a former North Adelaide and Sturt player in the SANFL this duo hope to turn previous finals experience into premiership success.

First Semi Final 2009/10

The mighty warriors got home again last weekend against a brave districts outfit, with both sides being decimated with injury the last man standing affair was a memorable win for the waratah football club. Backwell and Oliver off before quarter time both with game ending injuries the warriors had to dig deep in search of a mighty win that has given confidence to all those involved that there is bigger and better things to come. Dillon, May and Cooper were on fire they were well assisted by O'Keefe and Withers controlling the square. On to Tiwi this week which will be a tough game all the best boys up the mighty red and whites

Elimination Final 2009/10

A great win by the mighty warriors on what was a do or die clash, a ticket booked for the first semi next week and another chance to progress to the last day in March. After a slow start the red and whites finally kicked into gear and started to gain ground on the fast starting Magpies, with backwell starring oliver getting clean use in the centre and an inspired move of Tristian "Tornado" Tassman to the forward line the warriors gathered momentum. Beattie and McLean controlled the back half and tassman kicking five up front the tahs got home by 13 points on what was a great stepping stone for things to come.
